Who Mentors the Mentors?
Any of us feel that once you become a Team Lead, you’re suddenly left alone, the day-to-day becomes a lot more hectic, making you invest less and less in your own professional growth. This gets radical as you go up the ladder. Your team, the projects, bugs, production - they all need endless thought and attention - but wait, what about you? The leader role is so important and have a multiplier effect, yet, personal growth for leadership is a subject that many times left neglected. In this talk, I will share practical ways and ideas from my experience of building the engineering leadership forum at monday.com (which grew from two to 12 leaders). I will share tools that you can use to create a meaningful professional growth processes for the engineering leadership. You will also learn how to create a meaningful leadership forum, one that goes way beyond a weekly sync and how important is it to create more mentorship channels for yourself besides your direct manager, especially as things scale.
